Instructions for the Wood Frame Tumbler

Here are all the parts that come with the Wood Frame Compost Tumbler. We made a change to the Pipe and made it longer and put a
larger hole in the bottom so it will allow more air to flow. By doing this we eliminated the flange at the end of the pipe.
A word of Caution occasionally there are metal filing at the ends of the pipe that are sharp. We try to file them down but sometimes
they are missed. they will cut you so be careful.

We will start with the shortest steel pipe that will go thru the bottom large hole on the plastic pipe. This is the hole that is in the
middle of the pipe and away from the end cap. We eliminated the need for the flange you see in the picture.

Now put the plastic pipe with the steel pipe that was inserted into the barrel. the side of the pipe without the end cap will go
down and you will probably need to move the steel pipe a little to get it to fit in the barrel but it will fit. this pipe will only go from
side to side in the barrel but not thru any holes in the barrel

the plastic pipe will fit into the hole at the bottom of the barrel and stickout a little out of the bottom of the barrel

Next we will take the middle length pipe which is the pipe that the tumbler will spin on and slide it into the hole on the side of the
tumbler.

Then it will go thru the large hole above the other pipe and it will be 90 degree to the other pipe. NOte this is to go in the top
hole and not the lower hole. IF your pipe does not go thru the bottom of the barrel check and make sure that you put the steel pipe in the
highest hole.

This is what it should look like with both pipes in the barrel.

Now we move on the wood frame. You will notice that at the bottom there will be a number and a letter these must match for the holes to
line up.

You will now turn the top 2x4 over so the markings face each other.

now insert the bolt and attach the washer and nut to the bolt. On some models we have used Deck screws in leiu of the bolts so if
you are furnished with no bolts use the Deck screws to secure the Two Wood frames together. Do not tighten anything that
will be done later

now slide the long steel pole thru the holes at the bottom of the wood frame as shown above. the steel pole will be flush with the
outside of the wood frame.

Now put the frame upright in the normal position.

now you will put the horizontal steel bar that goes thru the barrel into the holes at the top of the wood frame. you will need to wiggle
the frame a little. The horizontal steel bar will need to be flush with the outside of the Wood Frame

now you will need to use a drill with a screw driver attachment to screw the screw into the wood and also thru the middle of the pipe. To
secure it in place. this will keep the pipe from coming out and keeps the frame secure. do this on both sides. Depending
on your skill with a dirll you many want to drill a small pilot hole to make it easier to drill thru. a 1/8" drill bit will work great.

Now tilt the frame so that the bottom of the frame is showing and you will again drill thru the center of the pipe to lock the frame in
place. You will want to do this in a level place.

Now tighten up the nuts on the bolts. If ever you fell that your tumbler is getting wabbly you can add some Deck Screws in this
area to stiffen it up. Or drill a hole and add another Bolt.

Flip the barrel back up to the normal position, locate on level surface and you are complete. Ready to start composting.
